Starting up a company and seeing it through is very similar to making progress in the Spiritual path of your choice. There are many similarities, for example, there is no single path or the right path to startup success just as it is true in Spirituality. One can get to the destination, which most often is elusive in startups as well as in Spirituality, in many ways.
Startups help me understand myself better, answering the age old questions, who am I, why am I here, what is my purpose? Fundamental questions that are part of any spiritual seekers journey. Spirituality is about awakening, kindling the spirit in you just as startups bring out the best in a person.
For some spirituality is a boring chore that happens on a Sunday morning, for some it’s a way to connect with God, for some it’s a kitchen sink for all their problems and questions, for many others it’s something to be done when they are very old and possibly on their death beds, for me Spirituality is part and parcel of my work, my life, my wife, my kids you name it but more than anything discovering myself through the Startup process iI realize is a great practical way of understanding spirituality.
